Ankara

I have recently fallen in love with “Ankara” otherwise know as African wax print.  Made from 100% cotton and vibrantly colored it’s the perfect fabric for summer.  I love the colors and designs and the fact that each fabric tells a story.

The amazing skirt I’m wearing comes from a very talented designer who just launched her first collection in February of this year.  The first part of her collection consists of 3 pieces with 2 more items coming in April.   Yetunde Sarumi’s designs are simple, classic and yet modern.  Even better a percentage of each sale is donated to ADF: Africa’s Daughters Foundation which helps bridge the gap of opportunities for African girls in science, math, technology and more.   Yetunde is also one of the founders of “Seamless Change”  which is a sewing entrepreneurial program for girls in Africa.

I love this midi skirt. Made from 100% cotton and fully lined yet lightweight and easy to wear.  The yellow color is bold and attention grabbing and so perfect for summer.
